PostgreSQL
PostgreSQL is an open-source relational database management system emphasizing extensibility and technical standards compliance.
First, navigate to the Add resources section in the sidebar. Select External and select PostgreSQL.
When adding a PostgreSQL data source, you are able to add the name and description that will be visible in the Workbench and Catalog.
To authenticate and connect to PostgreSQL, you must enter the following information:
  • Host
  • Port
  • Database
  • User
  • Password
  • Schema
You can also add any number of custom parameters that can also be used for the connection to PosgreSQL.
Some common custom parameters are: ssl, sslmode, connectTimeout, readOnly. A full list of available parameters is available here: https://jdbc.postgresql.org/documentation/head/connect.html
Test the connection before proceeding by clicking Test Connection.

Connecting via TLS/SSL

To connect securely to a TLS enabled postgres server use the following custom parameters:
  • ssl = true
  • sslmode = require
If encountering connection issues please ensure that the server is accepting connections and supports TLS.
